a poem by Jennifer Hollie Bowles

Now You Know

I'm a tempest in your bedroom
Show you how to come undone

I'm a dancer, dirty breakdown
Make the rain pour underneath your smile

I'm the first inhale of a crack pipe
Fold inside my speeding heart

I'm a tongue of blue fire on your abdomen
Don’t forget me, not even when you die

I'm a southern bitch and a red muse
My legs spread for your instruments

I'm aurora borealis in your prison walls
Now you know you're not alone

I'm the freedom in your craziness
Beg me when you want release
