a poem by Yarrow Paisley

3:26 AM

3:26 AM sits on my shoulders
like the weight of a dead woman
who overate during her lifetime
knowing specifically that in the end
I would be the one to carry the burden
and she is laughing
laughing as I bring her
to her grave.
