a poem by Mike Meraz

Other Men Couldn't Have It
other men couldn't have it.
"it's such a nice house you have,"
she walks through the kitchen
with not much on, tempting
even the asparagus.

you watch, your eyes glued to the TV set
of her body, not much matters
in cases like this, you get lucky,
sometimes fate works in your favor,
you don't question it, you just go with it
and wonder why such beauty is in your presence.
