a poem by Philip Tinkler

THE ATLANTIC OCEAN IN CASE OF FIRE

It's an unchained dog day
with not a God in the sky
the sun turns Indian Head
a silver glint of buffalo

The Fahrenheit is falling
over the caramelized arms
of Libitina the bartender
from Elysian Feels, a bar
down on Second and Second

She say's she's the Fifth
Horseman of my Apocalypse
a scotch & soda priestess
smiling wide in evolution
