Insanity & Despair

I can't really speak
for your feelings but
my despair is a little
lazy and more subtly
secure, only to come out
all at once at the wrong
moments or drunk and
lonely.

Just me and the
asphalt insanity of the
freeway, icy shoulders,
nonsensical ways.

I stop and pray
my needs are met
despite no votive candles
lit nor any penance done.
