Speeches

The campaign trail speeches
baby kisses and the catch word
"change" doesn't help poverty disappear
without a price.

The shovel job bailout wish list
won't pay us back for the bonuses
the faceless banks, Wall Street
& corporate reptiles have rewarded
themselves for being smart enough to con our
Government & us into saving their asses.

Now public outcry is met with speeches
saying, "the buck stops here" after you and
I have already paid for a tab we never
had the benefit of spending,

and no word like "accountability" will buzz
because we're too busy trying to find jobs
or feed our families with the pocket
change we have left.
