Double Shift Blues

something 'bout a necktie
always reminded me
of a noose

something 'bout a shirt tucked in
always reminded me
of a prison jumpsuit

something 'bout a plastic nametag
always reminded me
of a death camp ID number

something 'bout the punch of a timeclock
always reminded me
of a shotgun blast to the head
