a poem by Joseph Farley

Prisoner of the Space-Time Continuum

Hijacked by life,
Hijacked by death.
In between love,
Hatred, fury,
Hope, disdain,
Desire, frustration,
Sickness, pain,
The long decay
Of the radioactive body.
Ten thousand years or more
To unwind
From just being
A Big Bang in the machinery,
Seven billion explosions
Going off simultaneously
And in sequence.
