I RETURN ANOTHER DAY

On this page
I feel so lost.
I try to
vault somewhere else.

I return
another day
when the wind
whispers my name.
Wide awake,

I sing a silent hymn.

The mermaids
expose themselves.
In the sea,
I find myself.

I swim out
to the mermaids
past the sharks,
drunken sailors,
and pirates,

for a love out of reach.
