a poem by Scot Young (1 of 3)

summer of love minus the vw bus and jerry garcia (Haight, 2009)

brown skinned girl
in cha cha cha
gently
licked
jerk sauce
from her fingers

ck sunglasses replace
leather headbands
and who wears
a flower
in her hair

each finger
disappeared
between
wet lips
a freeze frame
one by one
softly touching
the tongue that

never tasted
baez when she
sang of virgil kane
or played guitar
on the corner
of haight & ashbury
on the first day
of the rest of our lives

big black
sephora eyes
danced madly
to a marley song
not
wanting
to
waste
a
single
drop
