a poem by Zachari J. Popour

romanticizing rejection and reaction

grimacing over an unretractable quip
that parallels a thirst quenched with sour
milk wet dreams of the Sahara
a birthmark under black light
the chatter of my teeth
in the den of clowns exposing the magic
of jumping beans as parasitic logic
i'm beneath you, Antarctica
foot of the world
an icebox opposing our polarities
taproot to a series of yesterdays
my limbs encircle them
with the trajectory of a boomerang
the taut braid petering out
like the ripples of a skipped stone
with the pang of your elegant distance
and graceful abandon
punctuating another lecherous misfire
