Write Something Every Day

"Write something every day."
That's what I hear all the time.
"Write something every day,"
Just a bit of everyday life.
Sometimes, I'm totally blank.
I just sit there and...nothing.
"Wait for it," they say.
I don't know about that.
Maybe I should go back to
Writing at the local coffee house.
But that was dreary.
I sat through a drive-by,
Two robberies, four fights,
And a knifing. The DEA
Took all the creamer packets.
Just day-to-day stuff,
Nothing unusual or interesting.
Maybe I was just in the
Wrong neighborhood.
