EDITOR'S NOTES
Welcome to Issue #8 of Gutter Eloquence Magazine! Many
thanks to the contributors for another great issue (IMHO).
And whether you're a contributor or not, thanks for taking
the time to read the zine.
I welcome your constructive feedback, whether it's kudos or
complaints. You can either send your comments by
email *
or post them on the
message board (go ahead and sign up,
if you're not a member yet).
In case you haven't noticed yet, G.E.M. is launching a new
feature, as of March 2010. Titled "ooze: news & reviews,"
it will be an occasional column--not always coinciding with
the release of zine issues--which will include print edition
updates, reviews of books and chapbooks, small press
news, and other related articles.
Submissions for G.E.M. #9 will be open March 5th through
April 10th. It'll be a special, THEMED issue. Of the 3 to 5
poems that you send, at least one of them must be about
(or related to) one or more of the following subjects:
road trips
commutingair travel
road head
traffic jamsairport security
backseat sex
traffic copsbuying a car
racing
collisionshitchhiking
buses
trainsmotorcycles
cars / trucks
auto repairtailgate parties
It's okay to send poems about other subjects, IF they're
accompanied by one or more pieces that are relevant to
the issue's themes of travel and/or transportation.
NOTE: read the regular submission guidelines before
sending anything, even if you're a previous contributor.
